As part of some work on adding support for IOK rules, you now have the ability to add your own tags to cases:
Currently these are just saved, but in future you’ll be able to search and filter by these tags

Nice, after you can search and filter by these tags it will be useful.
I don’t really use tags though, but if I really need them I’ll be sure to check them out.
